About the OpportunityBabylon Data is seeking an experienced ICT Support Officer to join the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR).Working within ACIAR's Business Systems Unit, you will provide frontline ICT support to staff across Australia and overseas, ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure and customer-focused ICT services. This role combines day-to-day service desk responsibilities with involvement in ICT projects, equipment deployments, technology rollouts and continuous service improvement initiatives.This is an excellent opportunity for an ICT professional with Australian Government experience who enjoys working in a Microsoft enterprise environment and delivering high-quality customer service.Please note: This role is 100% office-based in Barton, ACT due to the hands-on nature of the position.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the successful candidate you will:Provide Level 1 and Level 2 ICT support for hardware, software, networking, user accounts and end-user devices.Respond to, troubleshoot and resolve ICT incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.Administer user accounts, Microsoft environments, software, devices and ICT assets.Support ICT projects, upgrades, testing, deployments and implementation activities.Develop and maintain ICT procedures, user guides and knowledge base articles.Liaise with business users, vendors and third-party service providers.Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.Support cyber security activities including patch management, access management and incident reporting.Assist with the installation, maintenance and replacement of end-user ICT equipment.
Essential Skills & ExperienceTo be successful in this role you will have:A current Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.Demonstrated experience providing ICT support within the Australian Public Service.Strong experience supporting Microsoft on-premises and Microsoft 365 cloud environments.Experience troubleshooting desktop hardware, software, networking and user account issues.Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical solutions.Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service focus.The ability to manage competing priorities while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.A commitment to ICT security, governance and professional APS standards.Experience supporting ICT operational activities, deployments or technology projects.
