About the venue

Goldilocks Rooftop Bar is a certified Melbourne icon. A hidden 80 seater cocktail bar with spectacular rooftop views and an amazing team of pro's who are passionate about the industry and live to serve. We have a focus on an ever-evolving cocktail list that always plays close to the fairytale theme and is designed to excite and delight. A spirit of continuous growth and re-invention is what has kept people coming back time and time again for 14 successful years and counting.

Directly below our beautiful light-filled rooftop is a secluded 40 seater cocktail bar known as Little Red’s which only recently opened to the public. With a relaxed, candle-lit ambience, Red’s offers a warm and casual setting in which guests can drink, snack and socialise. Part of your role will involve assisting in the development and growth of this delightful little venue.

About the role

You will be part of a strong management team tasked with setting our bartenders and floor staff up for success. Working together with a passionate crew, you will to deliver the kinds of exceptional experiences that keep guests coming back night after night. Your job is simple:

• Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth service and high standards at all times across both floor and bar on both levels. You will be hands on during service, shaking tins, making friends and leading from the front.

• Assist with the development of an engaging and unique beverage offering that includes cocktails which are both quick and cost effective to produce.

• Train and develop casual/part-time staff across all facets of operations with an emphasis on upskilling.

• Help to establish and grow a positive and healthy work environment by looking after staff and setting a positive example.

About you

• Supervisor experience or higher - You possess excellent service knowledge and a passion for creating exceptional experiences, always leading by example.

• A passion for great drinks and good people - Ability to work in fast-paced cocktail service, wait tables in line with a detailed sequence of service, and a decent base knowledge of beer, wine, spirits and cocktails

• A talent for multi-tasking and problem solving - Having the ability to be solutions focused and have a sound understanding of what needs to be prioritised.

• Strong communication skills - You will need to be approachable, level-headed and show consideration in your communication style. Ability to give and receive feedback openly is a must.

• Be customer experience focused - monitoring and enhancing the customer experience constantly, with a mentality of continuous improvement.

In order to be successful, we believe in providing ample support to benefit the successful candidate. The Assistant Venue Manager will report to and work closely with the Venue Manager for professional development and support. The role will be further supported by the marketing and functions team to assist in the growth and success of the venue.
