About the RoleWe are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our Business Services team in our Sydney office.In this full-time role, you will support the delivery of high-quality accounting and taxation services by preparing financial statements, tax returns and other statutory lodgements. You will work closely with senior accountants, managers and partners while building trusted relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients.This is an excellent opportunity for a junior accountant with experience in a chartered accounting practice who is eager to broaden their technical knowledge, progress their CA or CPA studies and grow within a supportive professional services environment.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:Preparing BAS, IAS and GST reconciliations.Completing monthly bank and account reconciliations.Working with Senior Accountants to prepare and verify ledgers and accounts.Preparing financial statements and supporting with workpapers.Preparing and lodging tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts.Building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with clients.Provide regular progress updates and support to Senior Accountants, Managers and Partners.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:A tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, finance, business or a related discipline.Currently undertaking or completed CA or CPA studies.At least two years’ experience within a Chartered Accounting practice.Familiarity with accounting platforms such as MYOB, Xero and QuickBooks, with a strong aptitude for learning new systems.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality outcomes.The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team.
