Commis Chef (Casual)

The Langham Hotel Melbourne is currently looking for a Commis Chef to join our Main Kitchen Department, which consists of approximately 60 colleagues.

Previous experience in a fast paced working environment will be highly regarded, along with demonstrated experience in large volume production cooking.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Ensuring the preparation of your section is prepared and completed to a five star standard.Complete assigned duties across all workstations, for example, grilling, frying, roasting and cold preparation areas as directedAdvise the Senior Chef on duty of inventory items needed for operational needs as requiredEnsuring food safety logs and requirements are met at all timesActively promote and participate in teamwork and positive communication with the kitchen and other departments.

Trade qualifiedPrevious experience in a large kitchen brigade, ideally within a luxury hotel or similar environment Proven organisational & time management skillsAbility to work well under pressureExcellent communication skillsTeam playerQuality awarenessFlexibility with various shifts
