Covalent Lithium is a fully integrated lithium mining and refining operation in Western Australia. As a joint venture between Wesfarmers and SQM (Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile), we combine global lithium expertise with strong Australian operational capability across our Mt Holland Mine and Concentrator and Kwinana Refinery.

The Role
The Dump Truck Operator role is required to support the safe and efficient movement of material across Mine Development and mining support activities within the site.
Material haulage is a critical component of Mine Development works, including haul road construction and maintenance, drainage, bunding, and dewatering support. These activities are essential to maintaining access, managing water, and enabling continuous mining operations.
This is a full-time, permanent position, on a 8/6 roster, ex FIFO from Perth to our Mt Holland Mine Site
Key Responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities
• Operate rigid and articulated dump trucks safely and efficiently across mining and Mine Development areas.
• Haul ore, waste, and Mine Development materials as directed to meet production targets.
• Dump material correctly at ROM, waste dumps, stockpiles, or Mine Development work areas.
• Maintain consistent cycle times while operating within safe limits.
• Monitor load quality and report any issues (overload, spillage, contamination).
• Conduct routine inspections and basic servicing checks on equipment.
• Identify and report haul road defects, drainage issues, or unsafe conditions.
Financial/Budget
• Eliminate rework by through meticulous adherence to designs and permits
• Operate equipment to minimise fuel use, tyre wear, and mechanical damage.
• Avoid rework through correct dumping and material placement.
• Report defects early to prevent downtime and additional cost.
Team and Culture
• Work as part of a coordinated production team to meet daily targets.
• Support new starters and maintain a strong safety culture.
• Take accountability for own performance, equipment, and work area.
Execution & Work Management
• Follow Supervisor instructions and adjust to changing priorities across shifts.
• Maintain effective communication with Supervisors, Excavator/loader Operators, and other truck operators.
• Support shift handovers with clear communication of issues or delays.
• Manage interactions with other equipment congested work areas.
• Adapt to both mining and Mine Development work areas as required.
Health, Safety, Environment and Community
• Work to Covalent's Licence to Operate, Policies and Procedures.
• Complete pre-starts, JHAs, and risk assessments for all works.
• Follow all traffic management plans, haul road rules, and site procedures.
• Maintain high housekeeping and environmental standards across all Mine Development work areas.
• Report hazards, incidents, near misses, and road or ground condition issues immediately.
Role Requirements
• Completed Year 10 or equivalent
• C Class Driver's Licence (mandatory), HR License (preferred)
• Loader, Excavator, Skid Steer, Watercart, or Telehandler tickets (desireable)
• Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry desirable)
• Basic Dewatering or Pump Operation training (advantageous)
• First Aid Certificate; Emergency Response training (desirable)
• 1+ years in mining or Mine Development, site services, dewatering, or mobile plant operation.
• Demonstrated capability working across multiple work fronts.
• Ability to work safely and productively in remote and arid environments.
