In less than two years, Eolas has grown from 1 to 23+ Defence and national security professionals. Twelve joined through LinkedIn. We're currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join a high-impact Defence program.
For the right candidate, this would be a backfill role on an existing engagement (subject to client approval) — and we're also actively looking to fill several other interesting Defence roles with our clients across Canberra. If you're a strong Systems Engineer, we want to talk to you regardless of which of these ends up being the right fit — we'll work that out together.
What Makes You Right for ThisStrong systems engineering background within Defence acquisition or capability development programsComfortable operating in complex, multi-contract, system-of-systems environmentsConfident reviewing and endorsing complex engineering documentation — specifications, design packages, technical risk registersExperience mentoring less senior engineers and building technical capability in a teamChartered Professional Engineer status is not required — eligibility to attain CPEng is though. Eolas supports and mentors staff through their CPEng application if that's useful to youAustralian citizen with a current NV1 or NV2 clearanceCanberra-based, primarily office-based (Campbell Park Offices) with limited work from home flexibility

What You'll Actually DoLead development of complex engineering documentation and provide engineering advice and assurance across design, integration, and verification activitiesIdentify, assess, and manage technical risk, and support governance and delegations frameworksRepresent engineering interests in technical forums, working groups, and formal system reviews with contractors and stakeholdersMentor and develop engineers earlier in their career, and help grow our talent pipeline more broadlyCollaborate across discipline streams to keep engineering inputs aligned with program objectives
