About the role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a professional, friendly, and organised Orthodontic Assistant / Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and provide exceptional customer service while managing the daily administrative tasks of our orthodontic practice. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Reception Responsibilities:
Greet and Check-in Patients: Welcome patients with a warm and professional demeanor, confirming appointments and gathering necessary patient information.
Appointment Scheduling: Manage the practice's calendar by scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments using orthodontic office software.
Answer Phone Calls and Emails: Address patient inquiries, provide information about treatments, appointment availability, and clinic policies.
Office Administration: Perform general administrative duties such as filing, faxing, copying, and scanning documents. Ensure all patient records are accurate and complete, including insurance information, consent forms, and medical history.
Assist with Treatment Scheduling: Work closely with orthodontists and clinical staff to ensure patients receive timely care and treatment information.
Key Dental Assisting Responsibilities:
Preparing clinic for patients
Chair side assisting orthodontist and auxiliaries
Infection control practice
Patient care
Laboratory work
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior experience in a dental or orthodontic office is preferred but not required. Customer service or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and doctors.
