About the role
About the Organisation
Our client is a leading provider of metering and data services, operating at the intersection of technology, service and sustainability to support the energy and resource transition across Australia. The organisation delivers smarter infrastructure solutions that serve resource retailers, networks and end consumers, underpinned by a commitment to reliable and accurate measurement, data and insights that a sustainable energy future depends on. The organisation is guided by its core values: Safety, Team, Customer, Innovation and Accountability.
About the Role
Every piece of equipment in the field, every dollar of working capital tells a story about how well a business runs. This role is where that story gets written. As Commercial & Supply Chain Manager, you will sit at the crossroads of numbers and logistics, turning commercial insight into decisions that keep the network moving and the business profitable.
You will own the full picture: forecasting demand, shaping inventory strategy, negotiating with logistics partners, and building the financial models the executive team relies on to invest with confidence. One day you might be untangling a supply bottleneck before it hits the field; the next, presenting a business case that reshapes how the organisation allocates capital.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will partner closely with Operations, Finance, Technology and Business Development, translating commercial rigour into practical, on-the-ground outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead commercial planning, financial modelling, business case development and investment appraisals to support executive decision-making.
Monitor and report on business performance, including revenue drivers, margin, working capital and CAPEX/OPEX, and drive initiatives that improve profitability.
Lead national supply chain and inventory strategies, balancing cost, service, risk and scalability.
Oversee logistics and warehousing providers and lead vendor performance management and governance.
Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives across supply chain, logistics and commercial operations.
Build strong cross-functional relationships to progress strategic initiatives and support business objectives.
About You
You are as comfortable interrogating a spreadsheet as you are walking a warehouse floor. You have spent at least four years building your craft in supply chain, logistics or optimisation roles, backed by formal qualifications in supply chain management, business or a related field, and you have the ERP fluency (SAP or similar) to back up the instincts you have developed along the way.
What sets you apart is the ability to move between altitudes: modelling a multi-year investment case for the executive team one moment, then digging into a forecasting variance the next. You bring commercial acumen without losing sight of operational reality, and you have a track record of turning improvement ideas into measurable cost and productivity gains.
You build relationships easily, communicate with clarity at every level of the business, and take genuine satisfaction in leaving a process better than you found it. Lean Six Sigma credentials or exposure to electricity or water metering systems would be an advantage, though your curiosity and commercial instincts matter more than a checklist.
Why Apply?
This is a chance to shape how a critical piece of Australia's energy infrastructure is planned, resourced and delivered, with genuine influence over commercial strategy and supply chain performance in a business that backs safety, collaboration, customer focus, innovation and accountability.
How to Apply
If you are a commercially-minded supply chain leader looking for your next challenge, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application, including your resume and a cover letter addressing the key requirements of the role.
This organisation is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
