Role Description The Automation Specialist IAM is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW, focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated workflows within identity and access management (IAM) systems. In this role, the specialist will analyze existing IAM processes, identify optimization opportunities, and build automation solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, and security. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and monitoring automation tools, integrating IAM platforms with other HR and business systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align automation initiatives with organizational policies. The specialist will document automation procedures, create and execute test cases, perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and support continuous improvements in IAM governance and compliance. This role also involves partnering with stakeholders to ensure user lifecycle management, access provisioning, and deprovisioning are streamlined and auditable.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Process Automation and Automation, with experience designing and implementing automated workflows in IAM or related systems.Proficiency in Troubleshooting, including diagnosing issues in scripts, integrations, and IAM tools, and implementing effective resolutions.Experience creating and executing Test Cases and applying Quality Assurance practices to validate automation and ensure system reliability.Knowledge of identity and access management concepts (e.g., role-based access control, user lifecycle management, access governance) and security best practices.Experience working with automation or scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or similar), and familiarity with IAM or HRMS platforms is highly beneficial.Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translate requirements into automation solutions, and document processes clearly.Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience in HR technology, enterprise systems integration, or SME digital transformation environments is an advantage.
