Ambey's Big Apple is a growing Australian fresh food and grocery retail business focused on providing customers with quality fresh produce, groceries and specialty food products at competitive prices.

The business combines the traditional strengths of a fresh produce market with the convenience of a modern grocery store. Its product offering includes fresh fruit and vegetables, South Asian grocery products, dairy, bakery products, nuts and dry fruits, beverages and other everyday grocery essentials.

The business has established stores across Western and South-Western Sydney, including Wentworthville, Tallawong and Edmondson Park.

The Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Manager will therefore play an important role in supporting the company's growth by ensuring that we consistently attract, select and retain the right people.

The Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Manager will become the central point of responsibility for recruitment across Ambey's Big Apple.

The objective is to build a high-quality, reliable and scalable workforce that can support the company's stores.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Recruit → Select → Onboard → Develop → Retain

The manager will work closely with the Business Owner, Retail Managers and department leaders to understand workforce requirements and ensure recruitment is proactive rather than reactive.

The Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Manager will be responsible for helping establish the systems and processes required to support this growth.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Experience

The successful candidate should have:

• 2–3 years' experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, HR or a similar people-focused role.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment, from advertising and candidate sourcing through to interviewing, reference checks, offers and onboarding.
• Experience recruiting high-volume frontline employees, preferably in retail, grocery, fresh food, hospitality, warehouse, logistics or similar industries.
• Experience managing multiple vacancies and recruitment priorities at the same time.
• Strong experience conducting interviews and assessing candidates for reliability, attitude, skills and cultural fit.
• Experience building and maintaining a candidate/talent pool for future vacancies.
• Experience working directly with managers and business owners to identify staffing requirements.
• Experience developing recruitment strategies to attract suitable employees in a competitive labour market.
• Experience with employee onboarding and probation follow-up.
• Understanding of Australian workplace and employment requirements.
