Canteen Assistant

At Vanilla Blue we are re-imagining the typical school canteen with our inspiring, nourishing and freshly prepared seasonal menu selection. We ensure the school canteen becomes the heart of each school and a hub of activity serving great food enjoyed by both students and staff every day.

We are seeking a few Casual Canteen Assistants to join our teams in our school canteens in Mosman. The role is perfect for a cafe, canteen professional with children or a local mum who wants school holidays off, or someone looking for a better work life balance.

Casual role: Monday to Friday

Hours: 20-25 hours/week

Pay: $34/hour + super

Shift start: 8:30am; Shift finish: 1:00-2:30pm

Term-based: 38-42 weeks/year

Key Responsibilities:

• Simple food prep and presentation (sandwiches, toasties, salads)

• Kitchen cleanliness and hygiene

• Lunch sorting and packing

• Maintaining high food safety standards

• Front-of-house service and POS usage

• Work in a fast-paced, process driven, line cooking environment

• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of various dietary requirements

• Good time management and punctuality
