Role Purpose
The Disability Support Worker role at CPA exists to provide high-quality, person-centered support to people with disabilities.
You will play a vital role in empowering clients to live as independently as possible, by helping them to achieve their goals and supporting their day-to-day wellbeing, dignity and quality of life.
About the Clients:
At CPA, our SIL houses typically accommodate between 3–6 clients. Clients can range in age from their early 20s through to more mature-aged clients.
Individuals living in CPA group homes may have a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down syndrome, and other intellectual or physical disabilities.
Clients may also present with differing levels of medical needs and behaviours, requiring varying levels of support.
Role Overview
We are looking for two dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our Accommodation and Respite service at our Beacon Hill group home. This is a Permanent Part-Time opportunity, offering approximately 25 hours per week across a variety of shifts, including morning, day, evening, and awake night shifts.
As a Disability Support Worker (DSW) in a CPA SIL home, you will provide compassionate, person-centred support to clients in a domestic setting, helping them live as independently as possible while supporting their individual needs, choices, and goals.
Key Responsibilities
Support clients with daily living tasks, including cooking, mealtimes, cleaning, and general household activities
Provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner (e.g., showering, toileting)
Administer medication in line with care plans
Assist with mobility and manual handling, including the use of specialised equipment such as hoists
Monitor and document client wellbeing, reporting any changes
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a supportive and positive team environment
Shift Times May Include
Early mornings: 6:00am – 9:00am
Day shifts: 9:00am – 3:00pm
Afternoon/evening shifts: 3:00pm – 6:00pm / 7:00pm / 8:00pm / 9:00pm
Awake overnight: 10:00pm/11:00pm – 6:00am/7:00am

Essential Criteria
Commitment to person-centred care
Current NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P2)
Ability to meet the inherent physical requirements of the role
Willingness to work a rotating roster
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check
First Aid & CPR
Where required, CPA will support or reimburse relevant compliance certifications.
