Public Relations Account Coordinator

Closer Communications is seeking a Public Relations Account Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Alexandria, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to launch your career in public relations and integrated marketing. As an Account Coordinator, you will provide essential support to our account management and PR teams, contributing to the successful delivery of campaigns and client communications strategies. This role is integral to ensuring our clients receive exceptional service and our teams operate efficiently across all public relations and corporate affairs initiatives.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the development, coordination and distribution of press releases, media kits and other PR materials

• Maintaining and updating client databases, media contact lists and campaign records

• Coordinating media monitoring and clipping services, analysing coverage and compiling reports

• Supporting event planning and coordination, including media events and press conferences

• Drafting correspondence, proposals and other communications under supervision

• Liaising with clients, media representatives and internal stakeholders to ensure campaign objectives are met

• Assisting with research on industry trends, competitors and target audiences

• Contributing to campaign planning meetings and brainstorming sessions

• Managing schedules, coordinating meetings and ensuring timely delivery of project milestones

What we're looking for

• A relevant qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Familiarity with social media platforms and basic understanding of digital communications

• A keen interest in current events, media landscape and corporate communications trends

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

• Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to learn and develop professional expertise
