About the role
KSC1 - Demonstrated experience, skills and knowledge relevant to the position. Current registration to practice as a psychologist in educational or clinical psychology.
KSC2 - Demonstrated capacity to engage and work with young adults and the school community and an awareness and understanding of the issues encountered by young people.
KSC3 - Demonstrated ability to deliver a comprehensive psychological service, including counselling, psychological assessments and associated reports within a school environment. This includes supporting young people and their parents.
KSC4 - Highly developed communication skills and an ability to maintain comprehensive confidential case notes and confidentially.
KSC5 - High level organisational and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with and work within a multidisciplinary team and other professionals in providing services to students with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
RoleThe Psychologist would be a part of our Allied Team Supporting the Wellbeing and learning of the students at out college.
There would be no school holiday attendance requirement for this position, and they would be able to access the 9 day face to face fortnight.
The successful applicant will be an experienced professional who will carry out their duties and responsibilities, relative to their professional discipline, with a high level of autonomy and with minimal reliance on professional supervision. The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and implementation of professional support programs within an educational environment, including guidance to other professional staff.
They will work collaboratively with the Allied Health and Inclusion teams to ensure that all students can access learning environments and experience learning growth each day.
As an education support class position, this role supports the educational services being provided to students, but will not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic).

ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities for this role will be negotiated with the successful applicant with the Principal at Melton Secondary College.
Contribute to whole-school mental health prevention and promotion activities, including health and wellbeing planning, capability building for staff and leadership, and the delivery of programs aligned with school priorities.
Provide early intervention and short-term counselling to individual students and groups experiencing mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing concerns or identified as at risk.
Coordinate and monitor supports for students with complex needs, working collaboratively with families, school staff, regional teams, mental health providers and other health professionals.
Develop and maintain appropriate student support plans, including wellbeing, behaviour and individual support plans, and contribute to Disability Inclusion processes and funding applications through the collection and documentation of relevant evidence.
Maintain accurate, confidential case management records and provide clear documentation, recommendations and follow-up to support SSGs, IEPs and collaborative planning for student learning, engagement and wellbeing.
