Everything Metal is a well-established Brisbane-based metal fabrication company with over 27 years of industry experience. We specialise in aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel fabrication across structural steel, façade, shopfitting, architectural, medical and general fabrication.

We are looking for a Brake Press Operator / Trades Assistant to join our busy workshop team.

The Role

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working with metal, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a professional fabrication team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating CNC press brakes and folding equipment

• Setting up and folding sheet metal and plate to drawings

• Reading and interpreting workshop drawings

• Measuring, marking and checking components

• Assisting tradespeople with fabrication and assembly

• Using hand and power tools

• Material handling and preparation

• Basic drilling, cutting, grinding and deburring

• Quality checking finished components

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area

• Working as part of a team to meet production deadlines

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience operating a brake press or folding machine or is keen to learn

• Has fabrication, sheet metal or engineering workshop experience

• Can read and understand basic drawings and measurements

• Has a good understanding of workshop safety

• Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work

• Has a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn

• Can work independently while also being a team player

• Holds a forklift licence (desirable, but not essential)

• Relevant trade qualifications are highly regarded
