Site Recovery Engineer

Enhance and maintain the resilience, recoverability, and operational readiness of a complex critical infrastructure environment. This is a key opportunity for an experienced Site Recovery Engineer to play an important role in a major technology uplift, ensuring enterprise-grade recoverability, supportability, and reliability from day one.
About the RoleYou will play a key part in bringing a new platform into service, working closely with infrastructure and operational teams to design and implement site recovery capabilities, optimise backup and replication solutions, and ensure recovery requirements are met across the environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement site recovery capabilities for business-critical systems.Develop and enhance operational support processes, runbooks, and technical documentation.Ensure new infrastructure integrations meet established operational standards and recovery requirements.Design, implement, and optimise backup, replication, and recovery solutions.Lead recovery testing, validation, and failover exercises to prove recovery outcomes.Identify risks, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.Work closely with infrastructure and operational teams to ensure effective recovery outcomes.Help minimise disruption to critical services during incidents.
What You'll NeedDemonstrated experience designing, implementing, and managing site recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions within complex enterprise environments.Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, networks, virtualisation, cloud platforms, and hybrid environments.Proven experience designing, implementing, and optimising backup, replication, and recovery solutions against defined RTOs and RPOs.Experience developing operational procedures, technical documentation, support models, and recovery runbooks.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify risks, root causes, and improvement opportunities.Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
Skills & AttributesStrong knowledge of site recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles.Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure and hybrid environments.Ability to design and optimise recovery solutions aligned to RTO and RPO requirements.Strong operational documentation and runbook development capabilities.Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
