Casual Dental Assistant

The opportunity

Charlestown Dental Centre is seeking a Casual Dental Assistant to join our friendly and professional team 2-3 days per week. As a Casual Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dentists and ensuring our patients receive the best possible care.

Key responsibilities

• Providing chairside assistance to the dentist during treatments.

• Following infection control protocols for instrument sterilisation/reprocessing

• Setting up, cleaning, and maintaining dental treatment areas and equipment.

• Scheduling patient appointments and managing booking and recall systems.

• Greeting patients and delivering a friendly and professional experience throughout their visit.

• Responding to patient enquiries and supporting the coordination of patient care.

• Updating and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.

• Processing payments and assisting with health fund claims and administrative tasks.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a dental assistant is preferred

• Strong clear communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask

• Proficiency in using dental equipment and software - EXACT

• A warm and approachable manner with a genuine commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
