Venue Manager

About the role

We are seeking an energetic and commercially focused Venue Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation, team performance, customer experience and revenue growth of our venue. The Venue Manager will be expected not only to manage the venue, but also to actively drive sales, increase venue-hire bookings, develop events and improve overall profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue

• Ensure high standards of presentation, cleanliness and customer service

• Manage opening and closing procedures

• Ensure equipment, facilities and bar operations are maintained appropriately

• Recruit, train, roster and supervise bar and floor staff

• Lead the team during busy service periods

• Set clear expectations for customer service and performance

• Manage staff attendance, performance and development

• Take responsibility for achieving weekly and monthly sales targets

• Actively generate and manage venue-hire opportunities

About you

• Previous bar, hospitality or venue-management experience

• Approved Manager license

• Strong leadership and staff-management skills

• Confident dealing with customers and event clients

• Understanding of bar operations, stock management and cost control

• Proactive approach rather than waiting for customers to walk through the door

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Ability to develop new ideas to grow events, functions and venue revenue

• Appropriate RSA certification
