The Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager with a strong background in precast concrete to lead our production and operational activities. Reporting to the VIC Southern Region General Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will oversee a team including a Production Supervisor, installation crew, and 7–10 operators, while also managing projects from order through to installation.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all operations

• Implement and monitor health & safety plans, including site inspections

• Ensure safe site access and compliance with all safety requirements

• Lead incident investigations, hazard reporting, and root cause analysis (RCA)

Operations & Production

• Drive production in line with schedules, targets, and resource planning

• Monitor performance and implement corrective actions as required

• Coordinate with quality control and maintenance teams to optimise output

• Conduct operational quality checks and inspect trucks for dispatch

• Ensure compliance with QA procedures and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)

Leadership & People Management

• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, operators, and installation teams

• Manage workforce attendance and implement shift rosters

• Conduct team briefings and maintain strong employee engagement

• Ensure training and development align with company standards

Project & Customer Management

• Manage projects from order receipt through to completed installation

• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and onsite supervisors

• Coordinate closely with the Installation Team Leader and internal stakeholders

• Maintain strong relationships to support customer satisfaction

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with internal and external key stakeholders

• Manage subcontractors for maintenance works

About You

• Proven experience in operations or production management within the precast concrete industry is essential

• Strong understanding of drainage systems, water infrastructure, or precast concrete products

• A minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in manufacturing is required.

• Strong leadership experience in a supervisory or management role

• Ability to manage both production operations and project delivery

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

• An engineering background or trade qualification is highly desirable

• Experience in stormwater treatment (preferred but not essential)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
