About the role

The City is responsible for the management of over $1 billion of engineering assets including roads, paths, bridges, drainage, car parks, bus shelters and street lighting.

The Civil Assets Senior is primarily responsible for ensuring robust, medium to long term asset management practices and capital works planning is undertaken for the City’s engineering assets and ensuring the City’s interests are represented in the planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects delivered by external agencies.          

We are seeking a self-motivated Civil Assets Senior who is able to oversee the civil component of the City’s Capital Works Program which has a typical annual value of approximately $51 million.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

• Responsible for the City’s provision and management of civil infrastructure including roads, drainage, paths, bridges, carparks, traffic management devices, streetlights and bus shelters.
• Preparing and coordinating team to prepare condition surveys, strategies, audits, 10 Year Capital Work Plans and project charters.
• Planning the City’s major infrastructure and road projects including commissioning modelling and designs, seeking approvals and coordinating land acquisitions.
• Leading, preparing and coordinating team to prepare grant submissions for civil infrastructure including Metropolitan Regional Roads Group, Roads to Recovery and Blackspot.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Proactive and collaborative attitude
• Experience in civil infrastructure asset management and/or maintenance and/or construction
• Experience in project planning and/or project management
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Be accountable for own actions and taking responsibility for decisions made
• Ability to work under limited supervision and lead direct reports to meet deadlines and objectives
• Relevant tertiary (degree or post graduate) qualification in Civil Engineering and eligible to be a member of Engineers Australia
• Current WA Driver’s Licence
• A satisfactory National Police Certificate.

The salary for this position will be from $115,393.15 to $131,077.28 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
