Accountant / Senior Accountant

About the role

We're looking for an Accountant / Senior Accountant to join our high-performing team and work hands-on with the next generation of groundbreaking Australian startups. You'll be challenged and supported to do your best work, with a team who lift each other up and value having fun in the process.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax advice and support for international expansion

• Deliver strategic advice on group structuring and tax planning opportunities

• Support client due diligence as part of capital raising and M&A processes

• Work alongside the Virtual CFO team to provide commercial support to clients as they grow

• Find smarter ways to work - including using AI and new tools to sharpen how we deliver for clients

• Prepare annual income tax returns and financial statements (majority business entities)

• Support the preparation and lodgement of indirect tax obligations like GST, PAYG, FBT and payroll tax

• Complete advice work relating to employee share schemes, restructures and capital gains events

• Support clients to successfully complete their annual external financial audit process

• Mentor and develop junior team members as part of their career development

About you

• 2–6 years' experience with a mid-tier or Big 4 Australian accounting firm

• A degree, and have completed (or nearly completed) your CA or CPA

• A strong technical base in Australian tax, particularly company tax

• Energy and ambition - you want to grow fast, take on real responsibility, and work hands-on with clients

• An innate curiosity and love of learning, and a genuine interest in how AI and new tools can make great work even better

• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills
