Caravan Repairer / Service Technician

Someone's holiday is on the line. Literally.

A family's got four weeks off, a booking at Streaky Bay, and a caravan with a fridge that won't run on 12V and a water pump that sounds like a dying seagull. They're standing in our workshop hoping someone can fix it.

That someone is you.

The job

You'll be diagnosing and repairing Jayco caravans and motorhomes at West Beach — 12V and 240V systems (with Lic Electrician), gas and water, chassis and suspension, brakes, roofs, seals, cabinetry, appliances. Warranty work, insurance jobs, scheduled servicing, and the occasional "how did they even manage that" repair.

No two vans come in with the same problem. If you like puzzles, you'll like this.

Where you'll be working

Our West Beach site is the largest purpose-built, modern RV workshop in the southern hemisphere. Not a shed that got extended three times — designed from the ground up for working on caravans and motorhomes, with the space, the bays, the lighting and the equipment to actually do the job properly.

If you've ever fought a van in a workshop that was never meant to hold one, you'll appreciate the difference on day one.

Some of our best techs came from automotive, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. A caravan is a house and a trailer having an argument — so if you can trace a fault, read a wiring diagram, and work out why something failed rather than just replacing it, we'll teach you the caravan-specific stuff. We'd rather train a good diagnostician than babysit someone who's "done caravans" for ten years and learned nothing.

The honest bit

It's a workshop. Some days are flat out. Sometimes you're on your knees in a wheel arch, and sometimes a customer is having a bad day about a warranty decision that wasn't yours to make. We won't pretend otherwise.

What we will do: back you up, give you the tools and training, and not hang you out to dry when a job goes sideways. We're family owned and run — the people making the decisions are on site, know your name, and cop the consequences alongside you. There's no head office in another state setting your targets.

What we need from you

• Trade quals and/or solid hands-on experience — caravan, automotive, electrical, plumbing, or building/carpentry

• Real diagnostic ability. Symptom-chasers need not apply

• The ability to explain a fault to someone who doesn't know what an Anderson plug is

• Organised, safety-conscious, and honest about your work

• You show up, you pitch in, you finish what you start
