About us:
The Fullerton Hotel Sydney is an award-winning luxury five-star hotel set in the heart of Sydney's fashion and financial district. As the custodian of Sydney's 151 years former General Post Office, this luxurious hotel is surrounded by Sydney's premium shopping, renowned restaurants, theatres and bars. Combining Victorian Renaissance designed former General Post Office building with a modern 31-storey tower, the hotel has 416 rooms and suites.
The hotel offers impressive event and banquet facilities featuring a 15 different conference spaces, featuring two ballrooms including the only pillarless grand ballroom in the city, which can accommodate up to 1,000 guests for a seated event, as well as the Heritage Ballroom: a true embodiment of Victorian style. Housed in the former Sydney Telegraphic Centre, our venue features an impressive 11-meter-high domed ceiling. Its pillarless design provides flexible configurations, accommodating up to 350 guests in theatre style, 250 in banquet format, or 160 in classroom setup. From inside, guests can view a large window showcasing the inner mechanisms of the building's iconic little brother clock, and views overlooking George Street.
About the Role:
We are embarking on an exciting project and are seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join us on a full-time fixed-term basis for 6 months, with the potential to extend up to 12 months for the right candidate.
This is far more than a traditional HR advisory role. You will partner closely with The Director of Human Resources and contribute to a meaningful project for the future of our workforce.

Your Impact:
Your responsibilities will include:
Act as a trusted advisor on employment legislation, Fair Work requirements, NES, and HIGA
Support the delivery of key people and payroll focused project and drive continuous improvement across HR processes, systems, and practices.
Partner with leaders to provide project support, working closely with the Director of Human Resources on decision-making, project planning, critical path mapping, progress tracking, reporting, and project administration.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, employment contracts, HR documentation, and people data.
Prepare workforce reports, analyse people and payroll metrics and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions and workforce planning.
Assist with compliance activities, including statutory reporting requirements, HR and payroll audits, and employee consultation processes.
Contribute to the success of the Human Resources function through project work, process improvements, and initiatives that enhance the employee experience and compliance.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the business, providing timely and practical HR advice and support.
Extract and analyse information from HRIS platforms to support decision-making
Who You Are
Proven experience in a Human Resources Advisor, HR Generalist, or similar role in a Hotel.
Strong knowledge of the HIGA, Fair Work legislation, and National Employment Standards.
A trusted advisor who can build strong relationships and provide practical, solution-focused advice to internal and external stakeholders
Tech-savvy HR professional with strong HRIS expertise and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, administration and problem-solving skills.
Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline are desirable.
Ability to work onsite full-time and valid Australian work rights – no sponsorship available for this role
