About us
The Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) leads innovation in clinical care across NSW. We do this by bringing clinicians, patients and healthcare managers together to design and implement new ways to deliver healthcare.

About the Opportunity
The Project Officer will expand the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) in clinical settings by developing an algorithm prototype to monitor free text clinical notes to support pressure injury surveillance in the intensive care setting . The NLP methods developed may be replicated in other clinical settings. This position will work with eHealth NSW and external academic partners as part of a TRGS grant. This position will also work with multiple directorates at ACI to build internal capability in the use of NLP to transform clinical notes in the electronic medical record into a format that can be used for analysis and research.

Selection Criteria

1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or experience in natural language processing, working with ICU data and database administration.
2. Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills, with experience in data management, analysis and reporting
3. Ability to provide strategic advice to statewide projects, with strong verbal and written communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
4. Demonstrated experience in project management and leading a project, and working in complex environments with senior and external stakeholders.
