Head/Senior Apiarist/Beekeepr

Maroona Apiaries is seeking an experienced Head/Senior Apiarist/Beekeeper for an Immediate start. Based at Eulo, QLD

About the Role:

• Manage and maintain beehives, ensuring the health and safety of colonies in accordance with "National best management practice for beekeeping in the Australian environment".
• Manage hive conditions, control pests and diseases especially Varroa Mite.
• Seasonal beehive management including honey harvesting and pollination contracts.
• Manage Queen breeding and Nuc Colonies.
• Manage harvesting & extract honey.
• Maintain records and report on hive performance and health.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior experience in beekeeping/apiculture in a senior/head role
• Extensive knowledge of hive management practices.
• Ability to handle bees safely and confidently.
• Strong physical fitness and attention to detail.
• Experience with Varroa Management
• Truck licence (minimum HR)

Requirements:

• 5+ years commercial beekeeping experience with 2+ years in a senior/head beekeeper position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
