About the role
Telehealth | Values-Based Practice | FT/PT role | Remote (Work from home: Australia-wide)
Do the kind of psychology you hoped you would do when you entered the profession. You probably didn’t become a psychologist simply to help people reduce a score on a questionnaire.
You wanted to understand people.
To sit with complexity.
To help someone recognise the patterns shaping their life, make sense of where those patterns came from, and gradually learn to respond differently.
To help people grow.
Yet many thoughtful clinicians eventually find themselves working in systems where the pressure is toward shorter-term symptom management, rigid protocols and moving quickly from one presentation to the next.
Those approaches can absolutely be useful.
But if you’ve found yourself wanting more room for formulation, depth, values, relationship and meaningful behavioural change, you may feel at home at The Harvest Clinic.
🌱 Our PhilosophyThe Harvest Clinic was founded on a simple idea:
If you want better fruit, the work has to begin at the roots.
The visible parts of a person’s life — their behaviours, relationships, habits, wellbeing and performance — do not emerge in isolation.
Underneath them sits an internal world shaped by experience:
beliefs, values, fears, assumptions, protective strategies, attachment patterns and learned ways of navigating life.
When those underlying patterns remain unseen, people can find themselves asking:
Why do I keep doing things I don’t want to do?
Why can’t I seem to follow through on the things that matter to me?
Why do the same difficulties keep appearing in different forms?
We believe good psychological work helps people understand what is happening beneath the surface — and then translate that insight into a different way of living.
What We Mean by Mental WellbeingWe don’t believe good mental health means feeling happy all the time or never feeling anxious, sad or angry.
What’s important is whether a person can understand what is happening within them, remain connected to what matters to them, and continue moving towards that meaningful direction even when difficult internal experiences arise.
A healthy tree isn’t one that never experiences drought, rain or storms.
It is one that remains sufficiently rooted to keep growing through them.
That same idea sits at the heart of our clinical work.
How We PractiseOur clinicians work from evidence-informed, formulation-driven and integrative approaches including:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Schema Therapy
Internal Family Systems-informed approaches
Attachment-based approaches
Psychodynamic perspectives
Cognitive and behavioural approaches
Functional-contextual principles
We are less interested in allegiance to a particular therapy brand than in understanding:
What is happening for this person?
Why does this pattern make sense?
What is maintaining it?
What genuinely matters to them?
And what will help meaningful change occur?
Your RoleAs a psychologist at The Harvest Clinic, you will provide individual psychological therapy via telehealth to clients across Australia.
You will have the opportunity to:
Conduct thoughtful, formulation-driven psychological work
Work with complexity rather than simply presentations or diagnoses
Develop meaningful therapeutic relationships
Integrate approaches rather than being restricted to one protocol
Practise with considerable clinical autonomy
Participate in regular supervision and reflective clinical discussion
Build depth and confidence in integrative, values-based practice
You will also be supported by an established administration and accounts team managing:
Referrals and intake
Bookings
Billing
Medicare processing
Client communication
Accounts and administrative follow-up
So you can spend more of your working week being a psychologist.
Who Can Apply? While we are primarily looking for a Clinical Psychologist on a PT/FT basis, finding the right clinician and the right philosophical fit matters greatly to us. We are therefore also very happy to hear from:
Clinical Psychology Registrars
Psychologists holding General Registration with AHPRA
Psychologists interested in working with us on a contracting basis, by discussion
The exact structure can be discussed depending on your experience, availability, clinical interests and how you would like your role to develop.
🎓 Clinical Psychology RegistrarsIf you are undertaking the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program, we want Harvest to be a place where you don’t simply complete endorsement requirements — but genuinely grow into the kind of Clinical Psychologist you want to become.
We provide a structured pathway toward Clinical Endorsement, including:
Access to Board-Approved Clinical Psychology Supervisors
Regular supervision
Group supervision opportunities
CPD support
Exposure to varied and complex clinical presentations
Development in formulation, intervention and therapeutic communication
Clinicians who thrive at Harvest often value:
Autonomy
Freedom to use your clinical judgement and integrate approaches thoughtfully rather than only focusing on meeting billable KPIs.
Growth
An environment where your own development as a psychologist continues.
Purpose
The sense that your work is helping people make meaningful changes in their lives - not just churning out sessions
Accessible Care Still Matters to UsDepth-oriented psychology should not be reserved only for people with substantial financial resources.
The Harvest Clinic maintains a strong commitment to accessible care.
Depending on clinician and client circumstances, our clinic provides:
Bulk-billed psychological services
Reduced-gap options
Private-fee services
Financial-hardship support
For eligible clients experiencing financial hardship, the clinic may also fund additional sessions after Medicare-subsidised Mental Health Treatment Plan sessions have been exhausted.
We believe kindness, accessibility, ethics and excellent clinical work can coexist.
Who Will Thrive Here? You may be a strong fit if you:
Value doing more than symptom relief with clients
Believe difficult emotions are not automatically problems to eliminate
Want clients to develop greater psychological flexibility and live more intentionally
Can commit to a minimum of approximately 8 hours per week
Applicants must hold general registration as a psychologist with AHPRA.
This Role May Not Be the Right Fit If You…Prefer exclusively manualised or protocol-driven therapy
Primarily want very brief, high-volume clinical work
Have little interest in formulation or reflective practice
Different psychologists practise in different ways — and that is okay.
We simply want to be transparent about the kind of clinical culture we are building.
