Platform Engineer - Beam

As a Platform Engineer - Beam, you'll play a critical role in supporting our B2B and software partner digital product suite. You'll help drive platform excellence by creating and maintaining automation, improving developer workflows, and ensuring our application infrastructure is secure, reliable, scalable, and high performing.

You'll collaborate closely with software engineers, product teams, and stakeholders across the business to design and implement reusable cloud-based solutions that align with enterprise standards and architectural principles. You'll also use your technical expertise to troubleshoot complex issues, identify opportunities for optimisation, and contribute to the evolution of our Platform Engineering and DevOps practices.This is an opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with platform enablement, helping teams deliver value faster while maintaining quality, security, and operational excellence.

This role is a permanent opportunity, and our preference is for this role to be based in Brisbane. We are also open to candidates based in Sydney or Melbourne. 

Day to day, you'll:

• Create and maintain scalable, secure and resilient DevOps solutions that support software delivery.
• Design and enhance internal developer platforms, self-service tools and automated workflows.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and infrastructure as code solutions.
• Configure and support cloud infrastructure, databases, servers and application services.
• Monitor platform performance, reliability and security and proactively implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and work with engineering teams to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical standards, documentation and operational processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to manage dependencies and deliver platform enhancements.
• Contribute to enterprise Platform Engineering and DevOps communities of practice.
• Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and innovative ways of working.

• You have proven experience as a Platform Engineer with a strong focus on deployment automation and developer experience.
• Your expertise includes Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tooling.
• You're experienced working with Azure infrastructure and cloud services.
• You have strong scripting capabilities and experience working with automation frameworks.
• Your understanding of REST APIs, microservices and serverless architectures is well developed.
• You'll bring strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• You're knowledgeable in cloud networking, security principles and operational best practices.
• You have experience collaborating with cross-functional delivery teams.
• You'll be familiar with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Grafana or Datadog.
• You're comfortable working within Agile delivery environments and modern software development practices.
