About the role
The Victoria Golf Club, one of the premier clubs positioned on Melbourne’s famed Sandbelt, is looking to employ a Qualified Horticulturist. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a mix of technical horticultural expertise, leadership potential, and professional personal qualities to assist in the management and enhancement of the Club’s landscaped gardens, native vegetation areas, and surrounding course environment.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual who has completed a Certificate III in Horticulture (or an equivalent qualification) and is willing to pursue further professional development. The ideal candidate will have experience in ornamental and native plant care, landscape and garden maintenance, weed management, and environmental best practice, along with knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) and Environmental Procedures.
The primary focus of the role is the maintenance and enhancement of the Club’s landscaped areas, and native vegetation. The successful applicant will also be required to assist with general golf course maintenance and greenkeeping duties as required, working closely with the Course Maintenance team to ensure the presentation of the Club remains of the highest standard.
Key RequirementsThe Victoria Golf Club is committed to maintaining and enhancing the unique landscape of Melbourne’s renowned Sandbelt. This role provides the opportunity to work across high-quality ornamental gardens, significant native vegetation areas, and one of Australia’s premier golf courses, contributing to the ongoing presentation and environmental sustainability of the property.
As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we have recently opened a new state-of-the-art maintenance facility, providing our Course Maintenance team with modern equipment, enhanced operational efficiency, and an outstanding working environment.
This is a full-time position. Availability for rostered work on weekends and public holidays may be required.
Meals, onsite parking, uniforms, and a commitment to your ongoing education and professional development will be provided.
