About the role
We are seeking an organised, proactive and people-focused Workforce Manager to join our team and play a key role in supporting the effective day-to-day management and long-term development of our workforce.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced healthcare administration or workforce professional who enjoys working with people, solving problems and creating structure in a busy healthcare environment.
The Workforce Manager will oversee workforce planning, rostering, recruitment, onboarding, training and staff support across the practice. The role will work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure we have the right people, in the right place, with the right support to deliver high-quality patient care.
About the Role;
The Workforce Manager will be responsible for:
Implement efficient systems and workflow procedures that enable the practice to operate smoothly and independently, with minimal day-to-day oversight or management intervention.
Developing and managing staff rosters across administration and selected nursing teams
Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and coverage across the practice
Coordinating annual leave and unplanned absences
Coordinating recruitment from advertising and candidate screening through to interviews, offers and onboarding
Managing staff inductions and ensuring employment documentation is complete
Coordinating mandatory training and professional development
Maintaining workforce training and compliance records
Acting as a first point of contact for routine workforce-related matters
Supporting performance management, staff wellbeing and conflict resolution alongside the Practice Manager
Identifying and managing workforce, operational, WHS and compliance risks
Participating in incident investigations, audits and continuous improvement activities
Supporting compliance with RACGP Standards, relevant legislation and practice policies
Contributing to leadership meetings, workforce planning and broader practice improvement initiatives
About you;
Experienced in healthcare administration, workforce coordination, rostering or operations
Highly organised with excellent scheduling and time-management skills
Confident coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes
Comfortable working with a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical staff
A strong communicator who can build positive working relationships
Calm and solutions-focused when managing competing priorities or unexpected staffing challenges
Discreet and professional when handling confidential and sensitive matters
Proactive, accountable and willing to take ownership
Detail-oriented while also able to see the bigger operational picture
This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact on how our workforce operates while developing your leadership experience within a supportive healthcare environment.
You will have the opportunity to:
Take ownership of workforce planning and rostering
Develop your leadership and people-management skills
Work closely with experienced practice leadership
Contribute to meaningful operational and quality improvement initiatives
Build experience across recruitment, compliance, risk and workforce management
If you are an organised and people-focused professional who enjoys creating solutions, supporting teams and improving the way a healthcare practice operates, we would love to hear from you.
Apply now with your resume and a cover letter outlining your experience and why this opportunity interests you.
