Nestled in the leafy suburb of Barden Ridge in Southern Sydney, Shire Christian School has been providing high-quality Christian education for nearly 50 years. Shire Christian School is committed to whole student learning; both academically and pastorally. Under this framework, teachers work in a collaborative and collegial environment to design experiences that challenge, extend and enrich student learning.
The Board of Shire Christian School is looking for an experienced Christian educator and innovator who lives to serve Christ, through a Reformed understanding of Scripture. The successful candidate will possess the deep conviction and demonstrated knowledge to oversee the delivery of education through a biblical lens.
The Principal will be a leader with a proven ability to lead a dynamic team, and to partner with a committed and active parent community.
Key Selection Criteria:Be a committed Reformed evangelical Christian, through active membership of a protestant denomination and church community Be of exceptional character and can model servant leadershipBe compassionate and empathetic towards the experiences, challenges and needs of children and adolescents Be an educational leader, innovator, and change agent who can inspire a like-minded staff team to deliver excellence in Christian educationHave the energy, drive and initiative to deliver the vision and mission of the school through the Strategic PlanUnite the Executive under a common purpose to deliver the best outcomes for the schoolPossess the foresight and wisdom to engage positively and decisively with the Board in all areasBe able to articulate and demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Christian Parent Controlled/Governed SchoolingBe able to demonstrate an exceptional understanding of education from P to 12Be able to demonstrate superior strategic, management, financial planning and administration skills and an ability to consult, plan and delegateHave demonstrated prior experience in school leadershipHold or is pursuing post-graduate qualifications together with appropriate teaching qualificationsBe able to promote the School in external educational settingsHave a clear position on the best way ahead for the ‘parents in partnership’ model and aligning with like-minded parents in the education of their childrenBe across the regulatory requirements of the school and possess a good understanding of its obligations under various jurisdictions and government agenciesBe willing to pursue further professional development and encourage staff to do soHave a clear position and views on the future of Christian education and independent schooling
