About the role
This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified Position designated under Special Measures in accordance with Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic). Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (BLCAC) is the Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) representing the Bunurong people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation.
We work to protect Bunurong cultural heritage, care for Country and strengthen community wellbeing across Greater Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and Bass Coast. Our work is grounded in culture, self-determination, respect and strong governance.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Bunurong's Strategic Aboriginal Heritage Assessment, a significant project that will help document and recognise Bunurong cultural heritage, values and knowledge across Country while supporting future planning and cultural heritage outcomes.
BLCAC is seeking a motivated and community-focused Strategic Aboriginal Heritage Assessment (SAHA) Coordinator to support the delivery of Bunurong's Strategic Aboriginal Heritage Assessment across Bunurong Country.
Reporting to the Strong Culture Manager, this role coordinates project activities, cultural heritage research, community engagement and project documentation to support the successful delivery of the Strategic Aboriginal Heritage Assessment.
Working closely with Bunurong Traditional Owners, Elders, community members and key stakeholders, you will help ensure Bunurong cultural knowledge, values and heritage are appropriately recognised, recorded and reflected throughout the assessment process.
