About the role
WM Waste is a leading waste management and recycling company servicing businesses, councils and communities across Victoria. As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Driver Trainer to support the development, safety and performance of our Hard Waste and Bin Hire driver teams.
Reporting to the Management Team, you will be responsible for delivering practical driver training and assessments to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations across our Hard Waste and Bin Hire divisions.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering driver inductions and onboarding programs
Conducting driver competency assessments and on-road evaluations
Providing coaching in safe vehicle operation and customer service
Training drivers on company procedures, site requirements and safe work practices
Conducting route familiarisation and practical driver training
Delivering refresher and remedial training where required
Supporting a strong safety culture across the business
Maintaining accurate training records and assessment documentation
Working closely with operational leaders to identify training and development needs
Previous experience in driver training, transport operations or a similar role
Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle safety and road rules
Excellent communication and coaching skills
Ability to engage and develop drivers of varying experience levels
Strong focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Essential:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
Current HR Licence
Current Driver's Licence
Desirable:
Experience within waste management, transport or logistics
Growing Victorian-owned business
