Director Joshua Centre (Autistic Education)

About the role

The Joshua Centre Director will lead the organisational oversight and operation of the Joshua Centre to provide students with a learning environment and program that is aligned with the College vision, mission, values and reflects the Flinders philosophy of inclusive learning. The Joshua Centre is a special purpose educational facility that supports students on the Autism spectrum, located on the Tyabb Campus, and provides a differentiated learning program and environment better suited to the sensory needs and routines of autistic students.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the organisational oversight and operation of the Joshua Centre

• Support student growth academically, spiritually, and personally

• Provide students with a learning environment and program aligned with the College vision, mission, and values

• Participate actively in the broader life of the College, including co-curricular activities, pastoral care, and staff collaboration

• Create an inclusive and positive environment for all students

About you

• A genuine passion for teaching and Christian education

• An inspiring and visionary leader who is passionate about autistic education

• Proven experience or understanding of autism, along with evidence informed, practical tools and strategies to support autistic children

• Exceptional interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students and colleagues

• Commitment to lifelong learning and continuous professional development

• Right to work in Australia

• Current VIT Registration
