The Role 

ABC News is seeking a Digital Producer to join our Darwin newsroom. Working as part of a small, collaborative team, you'll produce engaging digital content for ABC News Online, helping deliver accurate, timely and audience-focused journalism. This role is ideal for a skilled digital journalist with strong writing and sub-editing capabilities who thrives in a fast-paced news environment and is passionate about storytelling across digital platforms. 

The Job 

• Produce and sub-edit digital content, including text, photos, audio and video, for ABC News Online platforms.  
• Write, edit and fact-check stories to ensure the highest standards of accuracy, quality and editorial integrity.  
• Contribute original story ideas and participate in editorial planning and coverage discussions.  
• Collaborate with radio, television and network newsroom teams to deliver strong cross-platform coverage.  
• Monitor breaking news, current affairs and emerging trends to identify compelling story opportunities.  
• Build and maintain networks of contacts and sources to support newsgathering and story development.

About You 

You're an experienced digital journalist with strong news judgement, excellent writing skills and a passion for delivering content that engages audiences online. 

You'll have:  

• Demonstrated experience producing and sub-editing high-quality digital news content in a newsroom environment.  
• Strong editorial skills, including the ability to write accurately, work to deadlines and maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.  
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to innovative, audience-focused journalism across platforms.
