About SET Health & Fitness
SET Health & Fitness is a growing health-coaching service based on the Mornington Peninsula. We provide in-person and telehealth consultations specialising in athlete health, comprehensive blood pathology analysis, blood glucose monitoring, nutrition, sports science and evidence-based harm-reduction education.
Our specialised athlete health program was established by Jessica Gray following the loss of several friends within the bodybuilding and sporting community.
The program helps athletes—and people using sports supplements or performance-enhancing substances—better understand how their training, nutrition, lifestyle and supplement choices may affect their health internally and externally.
Our purpose is to provide respectful, non-judgemental health screening, education, monitoring and practical support. We want clients to make better-informed decisions while pursuing longevity in both life and sport.
Train with data, not assumptions.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a knowledgeable, analytical and personable health or sports-science professional to assist Jessica Gray in delivering and expanding SET Health & Fitness’s athlete health and pathology services.
The role requires someone who can look beyond a single pathology result and understand the relationships between different body systems. You will help examine the connections between hormones, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, metabolic markers, organ function, nutrition, training, recovery and supplement use to create a more complete picture of each client’s health.
This position may suit professionals from a range of relevant backgrounds, including:
Applicants must be able to analyse and interpret blood pathology as part of their professional knowledge and scope. They must also understand how biomarkers interact and contribute to the biochemical processes involved in normal bodily functioning, health, recovery and physical performance.
The position will initially commence at approximately eight hours per week. As the service grows, there is strong potential for increased hours and progression into a more permanent position.
Part-time, casual and contractor arrangements are available. SET Health is highly flexible regarding working hours, employment structure and remuneration. We will work with the successful applicant to establish an arrangement that suits both parties.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will be matched to the successful applicant’s qualifications and professional scope and may include:
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong scientific or clinical knowledge with genuine experience or interest in sport and the fitness industry.
You will ideally have:
Recent medical graduates and students nearing completion of a relevant qualification are welcome to apply if they possess strong pathology knowledge and appropriate practical experience.
Remuneration and Commission
SET Health offers a flexible remuneration structure that recognises professional expertise and contribution to the development of the service.
The remuneration package may include:
Final base rates and commission arrangements will depend on the successful applicant’s qualifications, experience, responsibilities and engagement structure. All remuneration and commission terms will be clearly agreed upon before commencement.
What We Offer
Why Join SET Health & Fitness?
This is more than a conventional health-coaching role. It is an opportunity to help develop a service created to meet a genuine need within bodybuilding, fitness and competitive sport.
You will help clients understand what may be happening inside their bodies, identify potential health concerns earlier and develop practical strategies to support safer training, improved recovery, sustainable performance and long-term wellbeing.
The role also provides an opportunity to be rewarded for contributing to the program’s growth.
If you have the scientific knowledge, pathology experience, industry understanding and communication skills to connect with athletes and sporting professionals, we would love to hear from you.
