Summary:
Nyamba Buru Yawuru (NBY) is seeking an exceptional strategic leader to join our Executive Team as Executive Strategy, Research & Policy.
This is a rare opportunity to influence policy, shape regional and national conversations, and help deliver transformational outcomes for Yawuru people through strategic planning, research, government relations and advocacy. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in advancing Yawuru aspirations across culture, community, economic development and self-determination.
For the right candidate, this role offers the opportunity to help shape the future of one of Australia’s leading Indigenous organisations and the wider Broome area while living and working on the stunning coastline of Yawuru Country in Broome.

Nyamba Buru Yawuru is the operational company of the Yawuru Native Title Holders Aboriginal Corporation. Guided by our vision of “Making mabu liyan real for all, always”, we deliver initiatives that strengthen people, land, culture and prosperity for current and future generations.
The Opportunity
This role sits at the center of strategic influence and organisational leadership.
You will lead the development of strategic policy frameworks, research agendas and government engagement activities that support Yawuru priorities and strengthen NBY’s position as a respected Aboriginal organisation and regional leader.
Working closely with the CEO, Board, Executive Team, Traditional Owners, government agencies, industry leaders, researchers and funding partners, you will transform complex challenges into practical strategies that create meaningful and measurable impact.

You will bring:
Postgraduate qualifications and experience in Indigenous affairs, government policy, research, economic development, evaluation or impact measurement will be highly regarded.
