Accounts Payable Officer

We are partnering with a thriving, multi-entity organisation in Sydney CBD to secure an experienced Accounts Payable Officer. As a business undergoing a significant phase of continuous improvement and digital optimisation, they are looking for a dedicated finance professional to take ownership of their high-volume processing and champion their systems.

This role is ideal if you look beyond basic data entry. With your strong grasp of NetSuite, you will streamline AP workflows, solve complex discrepancies, and become a key support for the broader finance team.

What you will be doing:

• Managing the complete accounts payable lifecycle across multiple entities and currencies.
• Driving the procure-to-pay process within NetSuite to ensure accurate coding, workflows, and key financial controls.
• Coordinating regular and off-cycle payment runs, ensuring timely remittance and compliance with internal delegations of authority.
• Acting as an internal champion for the AP function, identifying opportunities to automate workflows and improve system utilisation.
• Reconciling supplier statements, investigating discrepancies, and managing the AP inbox to prevent overdue accounts.
• Collaborating closely with internal budget owners and external suppliers to build strong, communicative relationships.
• Supporting the broader finance team with month-end cut-off, accruals, and reporting requirements.

What you will bring:

• Proven commercial experience managing high-volume accounts payable within a complex or multi-entity environment.
• Strong, hands-on operational experience using Oracle NetSuite, specifically across procure-to-pay workflows and approval processes.
• A solid understanding of basic accounting principles, month-end procedures, and general ledger coding.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to investigating and resolving ledger variances.
• A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with a genuine interest in process improvement.
