About the role
For 37 consecutive years, we’ve been Australia’s leading truck brand, built on a foundation of reliability, innovation, and a workplace culture that consistently ranks among the best for employee engagement. Our leadership in the market is backed by decades of experience, a strong national network, and exceptional service support.
Our product range spans light to heavy duty trucks, featuring advanced engine technology and comprehensive safety systems. We proudly market, distribute, and support Isuzu Trucks and Isuzu Power Solutions across Australia.
Isuzu Australia Limited is looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join our Strategy & New Business Solutions team and play a key role in delivering our Connected Program. This is an opportunity to work on a major technology-enabled transformation program bringing together connected-vehicle data, third-party telematics, customer platforms and IAL enterprise systems to create reliable, scalable services and new value for our customers.
About The Role
Sitting within the business rather than the IT function, in this role you will act as a critical bridge between strategy, business requirements and technical delivery. You will take existing business requirements and strategic objectives, challenge and validate them, identify gaps and translate them into clear functional, non-functional and technical requirements that delivery teams can use. Reporting to the New Business Solutions Manager in our Strategy & New Business Solutions team, you will work closely with the strategy team, Project Managers, IT, business stakeholders and external technology partners to translate our connected vision into practical, build-ready solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Facilitating workshops with business owners and subject matter experts to understand processes, business rules, data requirements, exceptions and priorities.
Mapping current-state and future-state processes, system interactions and end-to-end data flows.
Translating business requirements into technical specifications, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria and build-ready backlog items.
Maintaining clear traceability from business objectives through requirements, solution design, delivery, testing and business sign-off.
Defining integration requirements across third-party telematics and connected-vehicle platforms, myIsuzu, IAL’s data platform or lakehouse, D365, Salesforce and other enterprise systems.
Documenting APIs, interfaces, data mappings, dependencies, exception flows and customer, vehicle, device and consent-management requirements.
Working closely with the Solution Architect to understand technical constraints and help stakeholders make informed trade-off decisions.
Creating and maintaining a well-structured, delivery-ready backlog with clear priorities, dependencies and acceptance criteria.
Supporting testing, UAT, defect triage, deployment readiness and hypercare.
Maintaining high-quality, version-controlled program documentation and providing a structured knowledge handover at the end of the engagement.
About You
You are a capable Technical Business Analyst who is equally comfortable talking to stakeholders about customer outcomes as you are discussing APIs, data flows and system behaviour with technical teams. You know how to ask the right questions, expose ambiguity early and turn complex requirements into documentation that architects, developers and delivery partners can actually use.
You will bring:
Technical Business Analyst experience across complex, cross-system digital or technology programs.
Strong experience with systems integration, APIs, interface requirements and data-flow mapping.
Strong capability in requirements elicitation, validation and traceability.
Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery backlogs.
Experience mapping current-state and future-state processes and identifying gaps, impacts and dependencies.
Experience supporting test planning, UAT, defect triage, deployment and hypercare.
Confidence facilitating workshops and working across business, architecture, development, data, integration and vendor teams.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts in straightforward business language.
Experience using Miro or similar process-mapping tools and delivery platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps or Monday.com.
You do not need to come from the automotive industry. We are interested in people who have worked on significant technology or transformation programs and can demonstrate that they can operate effectively between business and technology teams.
Highly regarded
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
Connected vehicles, telematics, IoT or vehicle-data integration in automotive.
D365 or Salesforce.
Enterprise data platforms or lakehouse environments.
Customer facing digital platforms.
Working with sensitive data or complex data governance requirements.
Multi vendor technology or systems integration environments.
This is not a BA role where you will simply receive a set of requirements and document them. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a strategically important new program from an early stage, influence the roadmap and how the solution evolves as technology and customer needs change. You will help establish capabilities that will ultimately become part of how Isuzu operates into the future. Given the size of the business and scope of the role, you will have greater visibility and influence than you may find in a much larger transformation environment.
