Part time Accounts Manager

About the role

Eagle Rock Construction is seeking a Part time Accounts Manager to join our growing finance team. This is a part-time position based in Geebung, Queensland, offering flexibility whilst maintaining the financial integrity of our operations. As Accounts Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position is essential to supporting the broader business operations and enabling informed financial decision-making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers

• Prepare and reconcile monthly bank statements and conduct bank reconciliations

• Process payroll information and ensure accurate wage calculations and deductions

• Generate financial reports and statements as required by management

• Monitor and track expenditure against budgets and provide variance analysis

• Liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax obligations

• Support the accounting function with general administrative duties

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

What we're looking for

• Completed accounting qualifications (such as Diploma of Accounting or relevant certification) or equivalent relevant experience

• Proven experience working as an Accounts Officer or in a similar accounting role

• Strong proficiency with accounting software (particularly MYOB, Xero or similar platforms)

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work

• Strong organisational and time management skills

• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a part-time capacity

• Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members

• Knowledge of construction industry accounting practices would be advantageous

• Experience with superannuation compliance and payroll processing is desirable
