What you'll be doing
The Child Youth and Family Health (CYFH) Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) for children with complex developmental health and psychosocial vulnerabilities is a highly experienced and motivated Child and Family Health Nurse (CFHN) with paediatric experience who is responsible for applying advanced clinical practice and quality improvement skills to provide clinical leadership and consultancy for nursing care offered to children (and their families) from priority population groups, including children who: 
·       Are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 
·       Have a refugee family background 
·       Are living in kinship or out of home care, and/or 
·       have other complex family psychosocial vulnerabilities. 

The CYFH CNC will work together with the CYFH Nursing Leadership Team and the Clinical Service Director. 
lead and assist with CFH research and innovation in service delivery for children and families from priority populations. 
The role functions across Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) and will focus on children 0-11 years old.  The responsibilities for the role include providing clinical consultation and education for the broader CYFH nursing workforce to build their capacity   to work in partnership and engage effectively with clients (families and children), undertaken complex, child-centred clinical assessments for children and their families or caregivers, develop and implement person-centred and goal-oriented care plans and leading case reviews and clinical practice improvement/research projects.  The CNC will also be the central point of contact for clinicians and services working with families with children under 5 years of age with level 3.
