Customer Service Officer

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Customer Service & Logistics Coordinator to join a busy operations team in Prestons on a 12-month mat leave contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in customer service, order processing, logistics, transport or supply chain who enjoys a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering an excellent customer experience.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Operations & Customer Experience Lead, you will play an important role in ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently, while coordinating logistics activities and supporting the warehouse and operations teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing customer orders and inbound purchase orders accurately and within required timeframes.
• Monitoring orders through picking, packing, dispatch and delivery.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email.
• Providing customers with updates on stock, dispatch and delivery ETAs.
• Coordinating inbound container and truck bookings.
• Liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders, transport providers and warehouse teams.
• Creating consignments for daily dispatch across multiple carriers.
• Following up carriers regarding deliveries, missing freight and delays.
• Managing transit damage claims and required documentation.
• Assisting with invoicing and billing queries.
• Maintaining accurate order, booking and consignment records.
• Working closely with warehouse and operations teams to resolve issues.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in customer service, logistics, transport, supply chain or order management.
• Strong administration and order processing skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience liaising with customers, suppliers and transport providers.
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• A proactive, accountable and team-oriented approach.
• Good computer and systems skills.
• Experience within a warehouse, transport, 3PL or distribution environment will be highly regarded.
