Production Shift Manager - Days

Darrell Lea is recruiting an experienced and motivated individual to join our Team as a Production Shift Manager on the Day shift operation at our Rowville manufacturing facility.

No day is the same at Darrell Lea, so be prepared to be on the go. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this key role is responsible providing strong leadership and for ensuring that production occurs in the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective manner.

This role is permanent, and shifts will be Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30pm

About the role

The Production Shift Manager will work with relevant teams for the successful delivery of the production and maintenance schedule ensuring that safety, quality, and people outcomes are delivered with the company values embedded into the daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure workplace health and safety is at the forefront of how we operate

• Motivate and develop team members by providing opportunities, clear expectations, and constructive feedback

• Lead by example and continually reinforce company policies and procedures

• Maintain and improve quality, food safety and hygiene within area of responsibility and take corrective action in response to quality, food safety and hygiene non-compliance.

• Ensure that production targets are met by leading & supporting the production team

• Monitor & report on KPI’s

• Review & report working hours of production team

About You

The successful applicant requires:

• A minimum of 3 years previous production leadership experience, ideally within a FMCG/ Food or Beverage manufacturing environment.

• In-depth knowledge of production processes, ideally within a FMCG/ Food or Beverage manufacturing environment.

• Sound understanding of WHS and Quality

• Experience leading cross-functional teams.

In addition, it’s essential that you have the following:

• Proven ability to lead a team where people and safety are well balanced with meeting production targets.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

• Accuracy and attention to detail.

• Hi-Boil knowledge be an advantage - but not essential 

• Ability to work in an environment that is “hands on”

• Sense of urgency, deadline driven with exceptional organisational skills

• Lead change and promote a culture of continuous improvement

• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders

• Intermediate level computer skills including use of MS Office suite
