About the role
Kara Family Violence Service (Kara FVS) is a specialist family violence service providing crisis accommodation, transitional housing and outreach support to women and children experiencing family violence. We have an 8-month parental leave cover position for a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our friendly team. Experience in family violence practice within a refuge environment is preferred.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Specialist Family Violence Practitioner will provide holistic and strengths-based case management support to women and children experiencing family violence, including risk assessment and safety planning, from our core and cluster site in the City of Monash. The role also involves outreach and transitional housing support with clients in the community and the provision of rostered on-call duties.
The position is full-time; however, applicants available to work 0.8 FTE will also be considered.
You’re an experienced family violence practitioner who thrives in a dynamic and client-focused environment. You bring strong skills in risk assessment, safety planning, case management and collaborative practice, and you are committed to supporting women and children experiencing family violence.
Kara FVS values diversity. Women from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, culturally diverse and LGBTQI+ backgrounds and those with a disability who meet our position description requirements are encouraged to apply.
Kara FVS has an EEO exemption to employ women only H112/2022.
