About Bawinanga Homelands Aboriginal Corporation
Based in Maningrida in the Northern Territory, Bawinanga Homelands Aboriginal Corporation (BHAC) is a progressive Aboriginal organisation dedicated to representing and supporting approximately 4,000 Aboriginal people across 32 homelands in West Arnhem Land.
BHAC works across employment, community services and local development to support stronger outcomes for people living in Maningrida and surrounding homelands. Our work is grounded in culture, community connection and practical service delivery.

Purpose of the Position
Are you a practical coordinator who thrives on mentoring others and leading community-focused projects?
As the RAES Projects Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of project-based participation activities. You will be responsible for participant supervision, task allocation, workflow organization, worksite readiness, and ensuring the safe completion of activities. Operating in a culturally informed way, you will help participants build daily routines, practical capabilities, and future employment readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Activity Coordination: Organise workflows, allocate daily tasks, and provide practical direction to ensure activities are meaningful, achievable, and completed on time.
Participant Supervision & Engagement: Supervise activity participants, promote consistent attendance and punctuality, follow up on disengagement, and foster job-readiness skills.
Safety & Worksite Oversight: Maintain safe worksites, ensure participants follow WHS protocols, identify hazards, and ensure all tools, vehicles, and equipment are securely stored.
Records & Compliance: Maintain accurate daily attendance records, leave forms, case notes, and activity logs to support contract compliance and audit readiness.
Resource & Budget Support: Coordinate materials, equipment, and site requirements to ensure activities run smoothly; assist with quotes, invoices, and basic project administration.
About you:
Essential:
Demonstrated experience supervising, coordinating, or supporting project, activity, or worksite operations.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor participants in a positive, practical, and culturally respectful manner.
Strong organisational skills with experience managing workflows, task allocation, and record-keeping (e.g., attendance tracking).
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult and liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Sound knowledge of work health and safety (WHS) requirements and a commitment to maintaining safe work environments.
Ability to work within approved resources and follow organizational reporting requirements.
Current Driver’s License.
Valid Northern Territory OCHRE Card (Working with Children Clearance).
Ability to attain a Northern Land Council (NLC) permit to work and reside in Maningrida and surrounding homelands.
Desirable:
Experience working with Aboriginal people and communities in a respectful, culturally informed, and remote setting.
Experience in project delivery, community works, activity supervision, or participant support programs.
Understanding of employment pathway approaches, work readiness, or remote participation programs.
Familiarity with basic project administration, including timesheets, quotations, and tracking invoices.
