We are looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join our team at Yallungah Boutique Hotel, 62 Byng Street, Orange, NSW — a one-of-a-kind destination that fuses contemporary art and striking design in a beautifully restored heritage homestead.

Role overview

The Commis Chef will assist in the preparation of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about cooking and eager to learn from experienced chefs.

Key responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling and chopping vegetables, and seasoning meatsPerform basic cooking tasks under the supervision of senior chefs, such as grilling, frying and bakingMaintain cleanliness in the kitchen and ensure hygiene standards are metHelp with receiving deliveries, organising stock and taking inventoryRotate through different kitchen stations to gain experience and learn various cooking techniquesAssist in plating and presenting dishes according to the chef’s instructions
