About the position
We are seeking applicants for the position of Development & Research Support Officer within our Certification Policy and Development team, based in Melbourne. This role will work closely with the Team Leader, Development & Research to define and implement improvements to NAATI’s Certification System through data analysis, research and monitoring.
The position is key to supporting NAATI's Performance Evaluation Framework for Certification examiners and the maintenance of the Certification system.
Full time position (37.5 hrs per week)
Role based in Melbourne CBD
Salary based on the NAATI Enterprise Agreement 2024-2028 (Band 3)
Salary range for Band 3 - $84,528 to $94,580 plus superannuation
About you
A strong understanding of a range of statistical techniques and experience in conducting multivariate statistical analysis.
Proven ability to research, analyse and synthesise quantitative and qualitative data and prepare accurate and timely reports.
Experience working with individuals and groups representing diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant area (Language, linguistics, translating, interpreting or testing/assessment and evaluation).
A knowledge or understanding of the NAATI business context and objectives.
Excellent planning administrative and organisational skills and able to respond to complex queries and compelte tasks in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities
In consultation and collaboration with the Team Leader, Development and Research and the Manager, Certification Policy & Development:-
Support the improvement of NAATI's testing, assessment, and standards.
Support the design and quality assurance of NAATI's test formats.
Support the validiity and relaibility of NAATI testing and assessment processes.
Specific duties
Support the collection, analysis and summarising of available data using a variety of tools (including PowerBI, LMS, Excel) and statistical models (Percentage agreement, Kappa statistics, and Multifacteed Rasch model) to inform and support the monitoring of Certification examiners' performance.
Support the monitoring and evaluation processes of examiner and marking performance including feedback reports issuing.
Support the delivery of examiner marking training, performance follow-up calls and benchmarking sessions.
Assist with the implementation of improvements to examiner training and developent (including training modules and examiner performance evaluation).
Support the development of processes, policies and guidelines to support improvements to NAATI's certification testing system.
Other tasks as required by the Team Leader or Manager.
