The Guard Dog Training Centre is looking for a professional, confident, enthusiastic and genuinely animal-loving team member to join our growing business across our Berkshire Park and Vineyard locations.

This is a joint Administration, Sales & Kennel role, offering the opportunity to work across both our customer-facing office environment and our hands-on animal care team.

The successful applicant's position and daily responsibilities will be determined based on their experience, abilities, strengths and suitability for each area of the business.

You may be working primarily within Administration & Sales, primarily within our Kennel Team, or across both areas.

As part of the Guard Dog Training Centre team, you will help ensure both our clients and their pets receive an exceptional experience from the moment they contact us through to the completion of their pet's stay.

Depending on your role, responsibilities may include:

• Answering and managing incoming phone calls

• Must be able to multi-task

• Speaking confidently with clients and potential clients

• Responding to enquiries via phone, email and other communication channels

• Assisting clients with bookings, changes and general enquiries

• Confidently explaining our services, packages and offerings

• Following up enquiries and converting enquiries into bookings and sales

• Providing professional and exceptional customer service

• Processing bookings, payments and client information

• Maintaining accurate client and booking records

• General administration and data entry

• Communicating with the kennel and operational teams

• Assisting with arrivals and departures

• Managing client requests and ensuring information is communicated correctly

• Maintaining a professional and organised office environment

• And/or any other duties that may be required of you

Depending on your abilities and experience, you may be placed into a Kennel Hand role instead, working hands-on with our animals on a daily basis.

Duties include:

• Daily feeding, fresh water and individual care of dogs

• Cleaning, sanitising and maintaining kennels and animal areas

• Safely handling, walking and exercising dogs throughout the day

• Providing play, enrichment, affection and individual attention

• Following individual feeding, care and activity requirements

• Monitoring dogs for changes in behaviour, health or wellbeing

• Assisting with safe socialisation and supervised activities

• Supporting arrivals, departures and daily kennel routines

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe environment

• Reporting concerns, incidents or changes in a dog's condition to management

• And/or any other duties that may be required of you

Applicants must be physically fit and capable of performing the active duties of the role, including prolonged periods on their feet, walking dogs, cleaning, lifting and handling animals safely throughout the day.

As a representative of The Guard Dog Training Centre, professional presentation is essential.

You must be well-presented, appropriately and professionally dressed and maintain a polished appearance when dealing with clients.

We are a premium pet hospitality business, and our team members are expected to reflect the professional standard and image of our two facilities at all times.

The successful applicant must be willing and able to work across both of our locations:

📍 Berkshire Park

📍 Vineyard

You may be rostered at either location depending on operational requirements, your role and your individual strengths.

Flexibility between locations is an essential requirement of this position.

This position requires a flexible approach to working hours.

You must be available and willing to work on a rotating roster across the week, including:

• Weekdays

• Weekends

• Public holidays where required (not applicable for Administration Candidates)

• Christmas and New Year periods

• Peak periods and busy periods as required

Our business operates every day, and our animals require consistent care throughout the year. Weekend, holiday and Christmas availability is therefore an important part of this role.

Previous experience in any of the following areas will be highly regarded:

• Administration

• Reception

• Sales

• Customer service

• Retail

• Hospitality

• Animal care

• Kennel work

• Veterinary environments

• Pet care or boarding facilities

Experience working with dogs is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.

We are more interested in finding someone who demonstrates reliability, professionalism, confidence, initiative, a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for animals.

This position is suited to someone who wants more than a standard office or kennel role.

We need someone adaptable who is happy to be involved in different areas of the business and understands that every team member plays an important role in delivering the VIP experience.
