Assistant Superintendent

The Sands Torquay is a semi-private golf course located on the stunning Surf Coast, just over an hour’s drive from Melbourne. The world-class 18-hole championship course was designed by Stuart Appleby 
This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step on your career path. We are seeking a qualified and suitably experienced Assistant Superintendent to take responsibility for the general daily operation/management of the work program, daily supervision of staff and implementing the strategies and plans directed by the Course Superintendent.

Ideally, you will have experience working in a similar size course, possess strong time management skills, strong people management skills and a passion for producing a quality outcome. Success in this role will be achieved through excellent organisation and communication skills, meeting deadlines and having a strong eye for detail.
Suitable applicants should possess the following skills, qualifications and or experience:
•    Golf course and fine turf experience.
•    Extensive machinery operation experience.
•    Extensive Irrigation troubleshooting and repair experience is a must. (Rain Bird experience advantageous) 
•    Ability to direct and manage staff, volunteers and contractors.
•    Agricultural chemical users permit or equivalent (ACUP licence).
•    Knowledge of pests and diseases. 
•    Minimum Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
•    The ability to manage OH&S and Environmental systems.
•    Current Australian driver’s license.

Salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant depending on experience.
