Junior Estimator

City Linemarking is looking for a motivated and detail-focused Junior Estimator to join our growing estimating team.

This is an opportunity for someone looking to build a career in estimating within the commercial construction, civil and linemarking industry. You will work closely with our Senior Estimator, learning how to assess plans, complete take-offs, price materials and labour, prepare quotations and understand the commercial side of delivering projects.

The role is designed to provide hands-on training and career progression, with the potential to develop into a fully qualified Estimator as your skills and experience grow.

• Assist with preparing accurate quotations for commercial and civil projects.

• Review architectural, civil and construction plans and specifications.

• Complete quantity take-offs for linemarking and associated works.

• Measure areas, line lengths, car parks, warehouses, roads and other project requirements.

• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing.

• Calculate labour, materials, equipment and other project costs.

• Assist with preparing professional client quotations and tender submissions.

• Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing information.

• Assist with tender and quote follow-ups.

• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors when required.

• Ensure quotes are prepared accurately and within required timeframes.

• Work closely with the Senior Estimator, Operations and Business Development teams.

• Identify potential variations, exclusions and project requirements during the estimating process.

• Continuously develop knowledge of linemarking products, application methods, standards and construction practices.

Previous estimating, construction, civil, building or trade experience is highly regarded, but is not essential.

We are also open to candidates with experience in areas such as construction administration, quantity surveying, project coordination or trade-based roles who are looking to move into estimating.

This position is designed as a genuine pathway into estimating.

You will initially work alongside our Senior Estimator and progressively take ownership of your own projects and quotations.
