Video Editor – Part-Time | $35–$40/hr

Strum Media is looking for a talented part-time Video Editor to join our growing creative team in Mickleham, Melbourne.

We work across construction, property, corporate, brands, events, podcasts, social media and creative productions, creating premium video and photo content for a range of clients.

Alongside our commercial client work, we also produce music videos, advertisements, commercials, campaign content and other creative projects, giving our editors the opportunity to work across a wide variety of styles and productions.

We’re looking for an editor who has a strong eye for detail, understands storytelling, and can take raw footage and imagery through to a polished final product.

This is primarily an on-site role working from our office in Mickleham 3064, Melbourne, with the potential for WFH and remote opportunities in the future once you’re established within the team and our workflow.

You’ll be responsible for editing a variety of content including:

• Cinematic brand videos

• Music videos

• Advertisements and commercials

• Creative campaigns and concepts

• Construction and property content

• Corporate videos

• Social media reels and short-form content

• Long-form videos

• Podcasts and video podcasts

• Interviews and testimonials

• Event content

• Promotional and campaign videos

• Professional photo editing and retouching

• Property, construction, corporate and event photography

You’ll have the opportunity to work across both structured commercial projects and more creative productions, where you can bring your own editing style, ideas and visual approach to the final product.

You must be highly confident using DaVinci Resolve and have a strong understanding of the complete post-production process.

You should be skilled in:

• DaVinci Resolve

• Professional colour grading and colour correction

• Sound design, audio mixing and music selection

• Strong storytelling and editing flow

• Cinematic editing

• Creative editing for music videos, ads and commercials

• Editing to music and rhythm

• Short-form and social media editing

• Long-form video editing and maintaining viewer engagement

• Podcast and video podcast editing

• Multicam podcast editing and camera switching

• Dialogue cleanup, levelling and podcast audio mixing

• Commercial and corporate editing

• Multicam editing

• Creating clean titles, captions and basic motion graphics

• Working with LOG/raw footage and different camera formats

• Skin tone correction and colour matching between cameras

• Audio syncing and dialogue cleanup

• File organisation and media management

• Export settings, codecs and professional file delivery

• Photo editing, colour correction and retouching

• Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop

• RAW photo processing

• Skin retouching while maintaining a natural look

• Exposure, white balance and colour consistency across photo sets

• Removing unwanted objects or distractions where required

• Preparing and exporting images for web, social media and print

• Working efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality

Experience with Fusion, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom or motion graphics is highly regarded.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has professional video editing experience

• Has experience with professional photo editing

• Has a strong creative eye and attention to detail

• Understands pacing, storytelling and what makes content engaging

• Enjoys working on creative projects such as music videos, commercials and advertisements

• Can confidently edit both short-form and long-form content

• Can confidently edit and retouch professional photography

• Can follow a creative brief while also bringing their own ideas and creative direction

• Can work independently and manage multiple projects

• Can work within deadlines

• Is organised with project files, footage and photography

• Takes feedback well and can make revisions efficiently

• Has a genuine interest in high-quality video production, photography and creative content

• Melbourne-based

• Able to work on-site from our Mickleham 3064 office

• Australian citizen or permanent resident with full working rights

• Strong experience with DaVinci Resolve

• Experience with Lightroom and/or Photoshop preferred

• Previous professional editing experience

• Own transport preferred

$35–$40 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.

This is a part-time position with the opportunity for the role to grow as Strum Media continues to expand. WFH and remote work opportunities may also become available in the future for the right person.
